Morocco

This unique 12-month program offers friendly, outgoing, hospitality-oriented individuals from Morocco the opportunity to represent the cultures and traditions of their country while interacting with Guests from all over the world. Participants hired as Cultural Representatives will work at the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot®.

Epcot opened at the Walt Disney World® Resort on October 1, 1982. As part of Epcot, World Showcase has become "a community of nations; the only permanent international exposition of its kind, focusing on the culture, traditions, tourism and accomplishments of people around the world." This community of nations is represented by the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, Mexico, the United States and Canada.

Entering the Morocco Pavilion, a beautiful courtyard with an ornate, tiled fountain leads to the pointed arches of Bab Boujouloud Gate. Towering over the courtyard is a Minaret. Just inside the wall is the Fez house, styled after traditional Moroccan homes, with an inner courtyard, balconies and tiled fountains. To learn more about this fascinating land and its culture, Guests can take guided tours of the Morocco Pavilion, which include a small museum and a tourism information center.

In the marketplace, shops in the small souk feature fine carpets, engraved brass, leather products, beautiful pottery, traditional Moroccan fashion, artwork, Thuya wood articles and Moroccan china.

The gracious hospitality of the Moroccan home is re-created daily in the elegant Restaurant Marrakesh. Dancers and musicians entertain Guests while they sample fine Moroccan cuisine, such as couscous, tagines or meshoui. A glass of mint tea completes the meal. The Tangierine Café , a casual and informal quick-service restaurant with a Mediterranean look and feel, offers specialties such as hummus, tabouleh, Moroccan bread, exotic coffee and pastries.
